Registered UA Students
Students who are eligible for or enrolled under Medicare or Medicare Advantage are not eligible to enroll under this policy.
Fall and Spring Eligibility
Undergraduates taking at least 6 units, or have a consortium agreement with the UA to take some courses at a qualified community college with an overall total of 6 units (approved consortium agreement is required). Seniors with less than 6 units (one time exception) who are completing their final graduation requirements (documentation from advisor is required) and who had the Student Health Insurance the previous semester are also eligible.
Graduates must be in a degree or certificate program taking at least 3 units or 1 thesis/dissertation unit.
Graduate Non-Degree taking at least 9 units, be accepted to a degree program (documentation of acceptance is required) and be taking at least 6 transferable units or be in a certificate program.
Students need to be taking at least 1 unit in either summer pre-session, 1st or 2nd session.
UA Online, UA South & Distance Learner Students: If you wish to enroll onto the Student Health Insurance Plan, you will be required to pay the Health portion of the UA Health & Recreation (H&R) Fee. The Health fee is based on the number of registration units taken.
For Fall and Spring enrollment/cancellation, go to your UAccess Student Center account and follow the easy steps on the following guides. For Summer enrollment/cancellation submit an “Enrollment/Cancellation” form securely.
If you experience a problem, contact the Campus Health Insurance office.
Once enrolled, you will be automatically re-enrolled and billed the appropriate premium through the UA Bursar's office in future semesters (each fall and spring) within 3 business days of showing registration units, providing you meet eligibility. This also applies to students who have or had a Graduate Assistantship. If you wish to cancel coverage, you must do so during the published open enrollment.

The Student Health Insurance can be added, canceled or changed only during the published open enrollment. There are certain qualifying life events that will allow one to come onto the plan outside of an open enrollment providing arrangements are made within 30 days of the qualifying event. Please contact the Campus Health Insurance office for further information.
In compliance with the UA email policy all open enrollment notices and information regarding the health care options is sent to the student's official UA email (@email.arizona.edu) address.
