About Shawna Kroh
Shawna is a native of Tucson Arizona. She is proud to be part of the CAPS team and The University of Arizona. She completed her undergraduate degree in Business Management Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling in Tucson. She has worked with high acute patients in a psychiatric inpatient facility and residential treatment. Shawna also has a part time private practice where she works with individuals and couples with a variety of challenges. She works with adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Degree & License
Shawna is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling, and she is an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist.
Role at CAPS
Shawna provides individual, couple’s and/or group counseling at CAPS.
Clinical Interests and Specialties
Shawna has a wide variety of experience with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Personality Disorders, Addiction, ADD/ADHD, Trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Eating Disorders and marital/couples counseling.
Treatment Approach
Shawna is trained in EMDR and uses this to help individuals challenged with addiction, trauma, anxiety and depression. Treatment approaches she also uses are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.
