About Martie Van Der Voort

Martie has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient and community mental health, and also has been in private practice since 2003.

Degree & License

Martie completed their Masters of Counseling at the University of Phoenix, and has been licensed by the State of Arizona as a Professional Counselor since 1993.

Role at CAPS

Martie provides triage and counseling (individual, couples and group) services at CAPS. They also facilitate several groups: Gender Spectrum, Grad Student Support, and LGBTQIA support groups, as well as workshops and as-needed groups for students.

Clinical Interests & Specialties

Martie works with all clients, particularly those dealing with gender and LBGTQIA issues, as a genderqueer person. Eating/body image issues, trauma (has Level II EMDR certification,) and addictions/behavioral compulsions are also specialties.
