Education & License
Krishna is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and Humanities at the University of Arizona and a Master of Arts in Counseling & Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy at Prescott College.
Role at CAPS
Krishna provides individual counseling at CAPS and is a supervisor of Triage. She also collaborates with and outreaches to community therapists to build a referral resource at CAPS. Krishna has been working at CAPS since 2008.
Professional Interests
Krishna specializes in the treatment of grief/loss, trauma, relationship issues, adjustment, and phase of life problems, ADHD, and spirituality. She has a special interest in working with women experiencing relationship issues and concerns, feminism, post-partum depression & anxiety, pregnancy, and loss of pregnancy, and racial trauma and injustice.
Treatment Approach
Krishna practices cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic development, Person-Centered, strength-based, eclectic, relational psychotherapy, mindfulness, behavior modification, and psychoeducation in counseling sessions.
Personal Interests
Photography, gardening, home improvement projects, landscaping; traveling with her son and teaching him about different cultures and geography; learning about history, cultural diversity, and feminism from her mother who was a civil rights activist in the 1960s-2000s; reading for fun and relaxing in her home with her cats; collaborating with artists and participating in social justice movements.
