Awareness. Education. Connection.

WellCat Peer Educators bring trusted health information, resources, and connection directly to their peers. By being students themselves, Peer Educators help create a lower-barrier, relatable way for students to build health knowledge and confidence, connect with resources, and feel more comfortable seeking support when they need it.

All Peer Educators hold a NASPA Certified Peer Educator (CPE) certification and complete a 12-hour training program. In addition, they receive specialized training from Health Promotion's Health Educators on specific health and wellness topics.

Peer Education in Action

WellCat Peer Educators provide health education directly to their peers through outreach, education, and 1:1 support. They focus on topics including sexual health, mental health, and alcohol and other drugs, sharing accurate information and creating engaging opportunities for students to learn, ask questions, and connect with one another.

Outreach

From drop-in hours across campus to specialized tabling activities, Peer Educators can bring interactive health topics to your dorm, group, or event.

 Outreach includes:

  • Alcohol Tabling
  • Free Condom Friday
  • Sexual Health Jeopardy
  • & more!

Education

To dive deeper into health topics, Peer Educators bring workshops, presentations, and Q & A's to a variety of campus groups and clubs.

Education includes:

  • Campus Health 101
  • CAPS 101
