About Michael Biuso
Michael joined the CAPS team as a mental health clinician in July of 2019. Prior to this, he worked in the Arizona state prison system and community behavioral health providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
Degree & License
Michael is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Arizona and his master's in Counseling Psychology at Prescott College.
Role at CAPS
Michael provides individual, couples, and group therapy at CAPS. He facilitates the existential therapy group (Making Sense of it All) and leads guided meditations Tuesday and Thursday mornings via Zoom (https://health.arizona.edu/guided-meditations-online)

Michael specializes in the treatment of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, and existential and spiritual crises.
Treatment Approach
Michael approaches treatment through the utilization of existential psychotherapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Jungian analytical psychology, and EMDR. His work is also informed by Buddhist philosophy.
