About Marian Binder

Dr. Marian Binder is the Director of Counseling and Psych Services at the University of Arizona.

Degree & License

Marian earned a BA in Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York, an MBA, with a specialty in Human Resource Management from the University of Arizona, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a licensed psychologist and also holds a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Role at CAPS

Marian is Director of the Counseling and Psych Services unit at the University of Arizona. She is the co-founder of the UA Mindful Ambassadors Program.

Clinical Interests & Specialties

As the Director of CAPS, Marian spends the majority of her time with administrative demands and campus crisis response, but the clinical work she does with students focuses on anxiety management, relationship issues, decision-making and a variety of sexuality related issues.

Marian has a strong emphasis on mind/body approaches.
