About Kelly Kurtz
Kelly has been a counselor at the University of Arizona since 2017. She has previously worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, public schools and has taught graduate counseling students.
Degree & License
Kelly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University Arizona and a master’s degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix. Kelly is licensed in the State of Arizona as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Role at CAPS
Kelly provides individual and couples counseling and clinical care coordination for CAPS. She also facilitates the LGBTQ+ support group and is a liaison for LGBTQ+ Resource Center.
Clinical Interests & Specialties
Kelly’s clinical work focuses on a variety of student concerns, including couples/relationship issues, family difficulties, LGBTQ+ issues, performing arts anxiety, general anxiety/stress, academic performance, and transition and adjustment to college.

Kelly primarily uses cognitive-behavioral therapy to work in a collaborative manner with students to achieve their counseling goals.
