Marian Binder, Ph.D.

Director of Counseling and Psych Services

Dr. Marian Binder is Director of the Counseling and Psych Services unit. She is one of two Diplomats for the American Board of Professional Psychology. Marian earned a BA in Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Marian's clinical work at CAPS focuses on general clinical, couples/relationships, sexuality, mind/body, and HIV. As the Director of CAPS, she spends the majority of her time with administrative demands and campus crisis response, but the clinical work she does with students focuses on anxiety management, couples/relationship issues, decision-making and a variety of sexuality related issues. She earned a BA degree in Psychology from Queens College, City University of New York, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a licensed psychologist and also holds a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
