About Joel Gaffney

I joined CAPS in Fall, 2018 when I moved from O`ahu. There, I was working at the University of Hawai'I at Manoa Counseling and Student Development Center for four years before moving to Tucson. I have worked within three different university counseling centers as a clinician. I am grateful to be able to work with U of A students as a part of the Wildcat Community!

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Miami University (Ohio) 

  • A.P.A. Accredited Pre-doctoral Internship at University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Counseling and Student Development Center 

  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Arizona (PSY-005083) 

Role at CAPS

Dr. Gaffney offers counseling (individual, group, couples) and triage services at CAPS. He also co-facilitates the Attention Management Program (AMP) workshops.
